The History of a Family Company
Dure Foods was started in 1978 by Scott Malcolm. From a rented corner space of an old warehouse in Brantford, Ontario, Scott and his first employee (who still works with him) filled orders for the company’s initial product – liquid dish soap.
By 1983 Dure Foods was co-packing coffee whiteners and bulk sugar with the help of a staff of five.
In the mid-90′s the emergence of the specialty coffee trend opened an opportunity to develop products for this niche. Continuous development of flavoured cappuccinos proved to be very beneficial. The company’s growth necessitated the construction of a new 35,000 sq. ft. food packaging facility in 2002. An additional 20,000 sq.ft. was added on and completed in June 2006 with more loading docks and blending and packaging rooms.
Scott’s sons, Hunter and Robert have taken their places alongside their father and will continue the proud tradition he began as a one man operation more than 30 years ago.
Today Dure Foods specializes in all aspects of Dry Blending and Custom Packaging. From Formulation and Blending, to Private Label.
We are a family company that is large enough to count on, and small enough to care.
